Some causes are built from a vision.

This one is built from seeing what happens when compassion has no chain to carry it.

There was always enough compassion.

What was missing was the one thing that makes a pull possible — a confirmed placement before the clock starts.

Schindler kept a list because a list was the difference between a name and a number. Between life and death.

That is still the difference.

The Life List is where an animal's name and number gets a chance at life.

I started the way most people start — a post, a photo with an ID number and a kill date, and I pledged money I wasn't sure I had for an animal I would never meet.

I somehow hoped it would be enough.

It wasn't. I watched Facebook posts still growing — shares, pledges, thousands of dollars — when the animal was already gone. I watched people offer to foster and never get a reply. I watched rescues pass because no placement was secured. And the clock ran out while the comment section was still filling up.

This is why The Life List exists.

Simone Rössel, Founder of The Life List

This cause asks for more than words. It asks you to be the place an animal can go when the system gives up on them.

Fostering, adopting, or standing behind those who do — that is the stand.
